ILS-INC Wins CAMS Subcontract
11/11/2008

The Combat Autonomous Mobility System (CAMS) is being developed for US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) by General Dynamics Robotic Systems (GDRS) under sponsorship of the Joint Capabilities Technology Demonstration (JCTD).

The Combat Autonomous Mobility System (CAMS) is being developed for US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) by General Dynamics Robotic Systems (GDRS) under sponsorship of the Joint Capabilities Technology Demonstration (JCTD).

CAMS is a modular robotic vehicle solution that includes an autonomous vehicle solution to help Special Operations Forces (SOF) warfighters. CAMS has four main missions: Resupply, Casualty Evacuation (CASEVAC), Recon, and Convoy operations. The system can carry supplies autonomously from one point of the base camp to another. If a warfighter is injured they can be CASEVACed autonomously back to the casualty evacuation point while a Medic attends to the injured. The system is equipped with a RSTA system and ground scanning radar that can detect intruders inside of a perimeter or Recon an area inside or outside of the base camp’s perimeter. Multiple CAMS vehicles can run in a convoy situation with other man driven vehicles to other resupply points outside of a base camp.

ILS-INC is responsible for safety analysis, a Safety Assessment Report (SAR), and an Operator Level Technical Manual on the CAMS program.
