ILS-INC Moves Into New, Larger Facility
New Headquarters
International Logistics Systems, Inc. moved into our new headquarters at 2866 Seven Valleys Road in Glen Rock, PA on July 18, 2005. The new telephone number is (717) 347-1200 and the fax number is (717) 347-1201.
The modern facility boasts almost 30,000 square feet of space, including separate departmental office space for Engineering, Program Management, Information Technology, Technical Writing, Training, Illustration, and Contractor Logistics Support. In addition, there is ample space for future expansion including IT laboratories, training, equipment maintenance, and warehousing.
"We needed more space because we're growing and expanding into new markets, both in government contracting and in the commercial sector. Our previous building just would not accommodate all the personnel I needed to hire," said Walt Grinnell, President and CEO of ILS-INC.
The new facility is easily accessible from Interstate 83, and the ILS-INC. staff is eagerly anticipating opportunities to host clients in our new headquarters.
Major Sub-Contract on AMMPS Program Awarded to ILS-INC
In September, 2004, International Logistics Systems received a sub-contract from Onan Corporation dba Cummins Power Generation (CPG), to provide Integrated Logistics Support during Phase I (Prototype) of the Advanced Medium-sized Mobile Power Sources (AMMPS) program. CPG was awarded the Phase I contract for the AMMPS program, which covers the time period beginning September, 2004 and ending in January, 2006, by the U.S. Army Communications and Electronics Command (CECOM).
The 5, 10, 15, 30 and 60 kW AMMPS skid or trailer-mounted generator sets will replace and outperform aging, currently-fielded generator sets of similar size being used by the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps. The improved reliability, maintainability, noise suppression, and fuel consumption, as well as the smaller dimensions and lower weight of the AMMPS units will result in significant reduction of Operations and Support (O&S) costs for the military. During Phase I, ILS-INC will perform tasks such as determining supportability requirements, Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) predictions, maintenance task analysis, Safety Assessment Reports (SAR), and testing support.
During Phase II (Pre-production), ILS-INC responsibilities will encompass the development of all technical documentation, including Electronic Technical Manuals (ETM) and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM), as well as training materials. ILS-INC will also handle provisioning and testing support. ILS-INC reponsibilities during Phase III (Production) will include training of military units, help desk and field support, and Contractor Logisitics Support (CLS).

LKMD Sub-Contract Award to ILS-INC
On May 2, 2005, ILS-INC was awarded the Lighting Kit, Motion Detector (LKMD), AN/GAR-2() sub-contract. This security and surveillance system, once configured and armed, is designed to provide protection to military units performing deployment.
ILS-INC will continue to support several key elements to include safety, reliability, availability, maintainability, durability, as well as Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM), training development and status, and a Logistics Management Information (LMI) database. Future Department of Defense plans include construction of 30,000 LKMDs for U.S. Soldiers.
ILS-INC To Partner With Thales Again
After a successful partnership with Thales Communications, Inc. on the Multiband Inter/Intra Team Radio (MBITR) Intermediate Maintenance Manual and training presentation for the U.S. Marine Corps, ILS-INC will again collaborate with Thales to write the operational and maintenance manual and training presentation for the Vehicle Adapter Amplifier (VAA) specifically designed for the MBITR in military vehicles.
With 40,000 MBITRs in the field, Thales has designed the VAA to increase output power, use the vehicle battery and antenna, accommodate numerous audio accessories and military intercom systems, and serve as a retransmission station. Currently, Thales is using the ILS-INC-developed MBITR maintenance technical manual and presentation materials to train Marine technicians in five major maintenance depots.
